Size Chart

I am happy to announce that StitchPrincess is rolling out some new products!!! To read about the inspiration for these projects, click here. My design plan is as follows:
Step 1: Finalize Designs (read here)
Step 2: Make Size Charts
Step 3: Choose Fabrics & Options
Step 4: Create!
{As I write this, I have finished everything(!!!!), but I will outline each step in a blog entry, just to make it more suspenseful and fun!}

Choosing a size is probably the most annoying part of buying clothing online.
I mean, seriously, how many sellers (Etsy or otherwise) give you enough information to know how an item of clothing will fit you? Not too many. I wish there was a virtual fitting room!

I wish to make clothing which fits all sizes. Instead of offering sizes 0-26 separately or one-size-fits-all (like most my patchwork skirts), I've created sizes x-small through 2x-large.

Aqua circle skirt--see the waistband?

Each skirt has a waistband with 2" wide elastic, plus a side zipper, creating a lovely & adjustable top :D

*Want to figure out which size you will wear when these skirts become available? Grab your tape measure and let's get going!*

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: Measure around the part of your body where you want to wear this skirt, then follow the chart below.

Consideration 1: I recommend that the pencil skirt be worn just below your waist or just above your hip bone, and that the A-line skirt & circle skirt be worn just above your hip bone.

Paisley pencil skirt
Consideration 2: If you want the skirt to be more form-fitting (the pencil skirt does this naturally, somewhat), choose the size in which your measurement is in the upper half of the range. If you want the skirt to be more loose at the top, choose the size in which your measurement is in the lower half of the range.

The elastic is cut to the smallest measurement of the range and will stretch to comfortably fit the largest measurement in the range.

YOUR MEASUREMENT    YOUR SIZE
24-31" .............................. X-Small
29-37" .............................  Small
35-43" ............................. Medium
41-49" ............................. Large
47-54" ............................. X-Large
53-62" ............................. 2X-Large

Stay tuned! Eight skirts will be released online soon!!!

New Products, Step 1: Designs

I am happy to announce that StitchPrincess is rolling out some new products!!! To read about the inspiration for these projects, click here. My design plan is as follows:
Step 1: Finalize Designs
Step 2: Make Size Charts
Step 3: Choose Fabrics & Options
Step 4: Create!
{As I write this, I am ready to begin Step 4 (!!!!!!!), but I will outline each step in a blog entry, just to make it more suspenseful and fun!}

After careful deliberation, I have decided to offer a new line of skirts!

Instead of panel/patchwork skirts (which are currently available in my shop), these new skirts will be simple and more fitted, though still slightly adjustable.

Three basic shapes of knee-length skirts will be available: circle skirts, flowy a-line skirts, and pencil skirts. In these basics are a few variations: some solids, some prints, pops of color, and varying fabric choices.

I am offering 9 different skirts in my new collection!
(Aren't you excited to see which fabrics I chose? Well, that's Step 3.)

All skirts have wide waistbands fitted with 2" elastic to make a cute and adjustable fit! Plus, each skirt has a zipper for added fit potential.

Six sizes will be available: x-small, small, medium, large, x-large, and 2x-large. I think that covers everyone (doesn't it annoy you when a seller only offers a product in select sizes?).
Want to know which size you will wear? You'll have to wait 'til Step 2 . . .

Late Listings

Remember when I made a bunch of aprons in the fall?
(click here and here for previous posts on aprons)

Well, at the same time, I made small child-size aprons that matched most of them. And I didn't list them right away.

I sent one of each apron to my friend and former-youth-pastor's wife, Becky Daye, and she & her adorable children took pictures of them for me!
Becky and her daughter Lindsay
It's wonderful to have pictures of the aprons on real children! (Thanks, Daye family!)

Soon after Becky sent my the photos, I started my crazy, month-long theater job . . . and I moved houses . . . and I prepared for Christmas. "Busy" does not even begin to describe my life in December. Ha ha ha.

Somehow, I let things get in the way of editing these pictures and listing them on Etsy. But, now I have finished!!!!

These aprons fit ages 3-7 well, and have waist ties that are even longer. Most have matching adult size aprons . . . Mother/Daughter gift sets, anyone? :)
